What we record
When you look up a website or IP address, our server receives what you entered. We don't keep it: a lookup that works is recorded only as whether it was a hostname or an address and how long it took. When a lookup fails we also record what was looked up, so we can fix it. These records are deleted after one month.
Which websites get their own pages is decided by public popularity rankings, never by what visitors look up.
Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the website, as any web server does. We don't store them, and nothing links you to a lookup.
Cookies and analytics
We don't set cookies, run analytics or show adverts, and there are no accounts.
Who else is involved
- DNS lookups are made from our server to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google (8.8.8.8) public DNS resolvers, not from your browser.
- IP address data comes from a copy of IPinfo's database held on our server; nothing is sent to IPinfo.
- Affiliate links (addresses starting /go/) take you to a partner's website, whose own privacy policy and cookies then apply. See our affiliate disclosure.
